Welcome to the Derbyshire Provincial Photography Competition.
My name is Joe Royle, Charity Steward of Beauchief Abbey Lodge No. 3793.
I devised this competition as part of the Derbyshire 2025 Festival to support the Masonic Charitable Foundation.
Starting on 1st June 2020 and monthly thereafter, you are encouraged to email photographs on a published theme to email@example.com
The theme running from 1st - 31st July 2020 is ‘SUMMER’
Please ensure that your LANDSCAPE photograph(s) were taken by yourself and haven’t been manipulated in any way.
How you interpret a particular theme is entirely up to you, so do please be as creative and innovative as you like. This includes taking photographs from inside, or outside your place of residence, in line with the current COVID-19 restrictions, or indeed you may wish to enter photographs you have taken at any time previously.
This competition is open to both masons and non-masons, so do please encourage your family, friends, and colleagues etc. to take part.
I would ask entrants to consider making a £5.00 donation for each photograph submitted, or an amount you feel appropriate as long as it isn’t detrimental to yourself or your connections.
Please help by giving whatever you can by using the 'Give Now' button.
The more people that know about Masonic Charitable Foundation, the greater their impact, so please also spread the word by sharing my page with your friends and family. Thank you in advance for your generosity, it really does mean a lot !
On the last day of each month, a winner will be selected from all photographs submitted that month.
The name of the winner and their photograph will be published, and a £50.00 monthly cash prize paid to the winner either by cheque, or bank transfer.
A new theme will be published on this link each month, and each month’s winner will subsequently be announced and a £50.00 cash prize awarded as above.
At the end of 12 months when all winning photographs have been selected and published, they will be collated and circulated amongst all the brethren of Derbyshire Province, who will then be encouraged to vote for their favourite Picture of the Year.
The Best Picture of the Year winner, as voted for by Derbyshire Masons, will receive a voucher for photographic equipment to the value of £250.00.
It is also anticipated that as and when all winning pictures have been selected, they feature prominently in a future Provincial Calendar, to be sold in support the Derbyshire 2025 Festival.
Full Terms and conditions are set out below, but in simple terms;
As and when each theme is announced, you can submit as many photographs as you like during the month for that particular theme, but each photograph must be;
• Emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org
• LANDSCAPE, not Portrait.
• Your own work, not one acquired from any other source.
• Not manipulated in any way
The Judges’ decision is final!!
